About Valdemiro
Valdemiro Arlindo Tchuma grew up in an agricultural area of Mozambique where fertile land and good harvests were common — but stable income was not. The problem wasn’t production; it was what happened after harvest. Without local processing infrastructure, crops were wasted and farmers remained vulnerable. As Founder of Agrifood Solutions, Valdemiro is building the processing capacity his community needs, starting with sweet potatoes and maize and working towards a community-based agro-industrial model.
About Agrifood Solutions
Agrifood Solutions was founded to address Mozambique’s post-harvest crisis at community level. The enterprise is establishing local processing facilities to transform raw agricultural products — particularly sweet potatoes and maize — into value-added goods such as flour and derived food products, reducing waste and increasing farmer incomes. Alongside processing, Agrifood Solutions provides free training in modern and climate-resilient farming techniques, building long-term productivity and food security. The long-term vision is a community-based agro-industrial system that creates sustainable employment, reduces food waste, and gives rural communities real control over their own agricultural value chain.
