Transition into Entrepreneurship
Jackline’s journey into entrepreneurship and the founding of She Deserves began at the tender age of 13 when she encountered the challenges of menstruation. Despite her aunt’s support with menstrual pads and painkillers, she remained unaware of the harmful effects these medications were having on her body. In 2022, Jackline received a devastating diagnosis of severe heart complications, a consequence of years of indiscriminate painkiller use. Enduring a life-threatening operation became a turning point in her life. It was during this arduous period that the concept for She Deserves emerged. With a dedicated team by her side, she launched She Deserves with a clear mission to offer a safe and efficient solution for girls facing severe menstrual pain.
Business Profile
She Deserves Uganda is a social enterprise focused on tackling severe primary menstrual pain among school-going girls in Uganda. With over 95% of these girls experiencing debilitating pain during their periods, many struggle to attend classes regularly.To cope, many girls turn to painkillers, unaware of the potential long-term health risks. She Deserves Uganda is dedicated to offering a safe and effective solution to alleviate menstrual pain, empowering girls to pursue their education without interruptions.
