Business Profile

Twendegreen is a Mombasa-based startup dedicated to combating marine plastic pollution and addressing educational disparities in informal settlements. By transforming plastic waste into eco-desks, Twendegreen tackles the pressing issue of plastic pollution while providing much-needed school furniture to local communities. The process involves collecting, sorting, and cleaning plastic waste, then moulding it into durable desks. These eco-desks offer a cost-effective and comfortable solution to the shortage of school furniture in Mombasa, with positive feedback from schools and parents. Twendegreen’s innovative approach has brought recognition, including winning the Mombasa Plastics Prize competition. Twendegreen aims to expand its product line and make a lasting impact on both the environment and education sector.
