Empowering Zimbabwe’s high school learners to generate employment through Emergination Africa‘s National Business Case Competition

Emergination Africa‘s National Business Case Competition (NBCC) 2023 has opened up for submission. This is an incredible opportunity for A-level students to showcase their business proposals and compete for a chance to win seed capital to jump-start their business.

Through the NBCC, Emergination has impacted 340 high schools, 70 800 learners, 459 educators, 319 high schools pitched, invested $65K USD in seed capital, and 13 ventures accelerated.
The competition starts from the provincial level and challenges high school students from all 10 provinces in Zimbabwe to develop and pitch business ideas, guided through specially curated project-based learning curricula and a team of international business mentors and industrialists.
Winning teams will be selected to participate in national final competitions where several prizes will be won including an opportunity to participate in a Virtual Innovation Accelerator program through which seed funding is provided to make the best business ideas come to fruition.

  • Ballenious Pvt Ltd (Northlea High School)- Baobab Juice and Baobab Coffee manufactures
  • Diapo Pvt Ltd (Queen Elizabeth High School)- Biodegradable Diapers
  • Wascus Pvt Ltd (Marist Nyanga High School)-Organic Pig Feed
  • Pured Pvt Ltd- (Mzingwane High School)-Tomato Powder
  • Food Wealth Grain Shellers (Hippo Valley High School)-Small Grains’ shelling

Onboarding kicked off in most provinces to receive a virtual refresher training course with Manicaland registering 18 new schools. The Manicaland Educator Venture Development Training at Mutare Boys High School was a resounding success and played a pivotal role in preparing the educators. The training focused on equipping educators with the necessary skills and tools for assisting learner teams to develop their venture solutions.

Educators are encouraged to enroll their schools in the highly anticipated NBCC 2023 and seize the opportunity to secure a remarkable USD 5000 seed capital for their learners’ ventures and also receive global and local mentorship and advisement.
